I thought I’d pass along the post from the Potomac Indexing (PI) blog on juggling multiple projects. Some indexers may like to do this, but almost all of us have to do it at one time or another and here are some suggestions on how it might be done.

The personal Facebook page…
In the presentations at the 2017 ASI conference on online presence, there were various views on using Facebook–a business page or a personal page. Do you have clients on your personal page? Do you have only a business page? I value my personal Facebook page as a place to have connections with people I don’t see often–other…
My cat needs me…
I love indexing. I love working free-lance but as with even the best things, there are some “downside” things. One is that freelance indexing can be rather solitary. I appreciate Facebook as it allows me to keep in contact with other indexers in between conferences but nothing compares to meeting the “names and pictures” face…
Indexing blogs….
I’m a subscriber to the Potomac Indexing blog–a great source of “continuing education” and thought-provoking articles. Since usability concerns us all this article on cross references seems particularly pertinent; I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
From a book designer….
I’m sure that many of us do get referrals from book designers and/or cover designers–I certainly do. Those referrals give me a fantastic variety of work that I enjoy immensely although I’ve seldom had occasion to discuss the index with either of them. I was so glad to see this post on “The end matters–on…
How to be liked on LinkedIn
Some good tips on Linked In. I know I need to get more famiiar with what can be done with it. via How to be liked on LinkedIn.
InDesign, indexing in

InDesign is loaded with little tool panels that pull out and float, and a bazillion little iconic buttons that are not necessarily self explanatory…
Sack that client
A necessary thing to do if you want to stay sane
Working from home
While I was getting ready for work this morning (getting an adequate amount of caffeine), I was trolling through my email (part of the caffeination process here) and found Christine Hoskin‘s discussion on the pros and cons of self-employment. If you think working from home is for you, take the time to read this–it’s a…
An unproductive day….
I do love working from home and being my own boss; usually I’m quite diligent about work but there are those occasional days productivity just isn’t happening–I can’t think of appropriate ways to phrase entries; just nothing is going right. I can’t blame the cat–even if he is persistently trying to walk across the keyboard (trying…
